Overview of Prior Health Law Practice
As a healthcare lawyer in private practice at the Law Offices of Michael D. Roth LLC with his partner (and spouse) Sharon Roth, for over 35 years before becoming a full-time health care neutral, Mr. Roth worked with and represented hospitals, SNFs, subacute care facilities, home health agencies, hospices, ambulatory surgery centers, physician groups, physicians, numerous other licensed practitioners, and health plans. Mr. Roth acquired an in-depth working knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to delivery of and payment for health care services and health care organizations, and this included: state corporate practice of medicine prohibitions, state/federal fraud and abuse laws; state/federal confidentiality laws; state prompt-pay laws; state/federal Any Willing Provider Laws, and ERISA preemption. Emphasis of private practice was on health care transactions and contracting; statutory and regulatory compliance; third-party/Medicare reimbursement; medical staff peer review; quality assurance; and civil/administrative/ADR dispute resolution.
